Five Reasons to Attend the Ohio Swiss Festival

10th Aug 2018

Apple Fritters

As if those two words aren’t enough. Apple fritters are a popular favorite among attendees. Stop by the apple fritter tent on Broadway for fresh hot apple fritters. They’re a great bargain and I like to grab a bottle of apple cider to enhance my apple fritter experience.

Wine and Cheese

Step into the fire station where you'll find an abundance of wine and cheese. Purchase tickets to try out our local award winning wine and cheese. After deciding which your favorites are you can purchase a bottle of wine or cheese wheel to take home. There's also live music right there if you want to sit and stay a while.

Fun Parades

Grab a Swiss fried cheese on a stick and head over to Main Street for the kiddie parade on Friday at 2:00. You'll see the cutest Swiss dressed children riding their Swiss themed bicycles, wagons and mini floats. Or they may be walking their best decorated pet! Get your seat early for Saturday's grand parade. An antique car parade starts it off at 1:45, followed by an hour of local bands, Swiss themed floats and vehicles. Take a goodie bag to collect the fun items thrown out.

Experience the popular Swiss sport not often seen in America. Men and women can compete to see who can throw a stone the farthest. And if sitting on the sideline isn’t your style, feel free to sign the waiver and participate! This contest takes place Friday at 7:30, and Saturday at 4:30 and 7:00.

Cheese Eating Contest

Thursday at 6:30 is the cheese eating contest. If you’re still hungry after watching or participating stay for the cheese auction that begins at 7:15.
